I just got my 2015 F250 sprayed with Patriot spray bedliner. Very happy with the results.

The spray machine they use is $100K. That tells me it's a lot fancier that any spray gun at Harbor Freight or one that comes free with a spray bed lining kit.

I can imagine if you mess up doing it yourself it's a royal PIA.to remove.

People talk about LineX spray bedliner but seems Patriot is giving them a run for their money. More than one shop told me they have had better results with Patriot than LineX. The place I went told me they are the number one shop on Eastern Shore. So around DE and eastern MD.

My Titan had a sprayed liner from the factory. It’s incredibly grippy. When I was installing a topper I tried to slide forward on my back and it pulled my pants off. My Chevy has a plastic drop-in and it’s great for unloading stuff because it just slides right out. I guess it depends on what you want, but if I ever buy another truck I’m getting it sprayed.

I would suggest pulling the plastic drop-in liner yearly and vacuuming out the bed of anything you find then painting any rusty or worn paint spots then put the liner back in. I probably dodged a bullet. Another couple of years and my rust spots would have been rust holes.

That liner spray looks very evenly applied. Very nice.

Wow, that's quite an investment. I wonder what the advantage is to the $100k machine, compared to simpler application methods used by shops. And I wonder how long it will take to get their return on investment.

I get quite a few Rams Line-X'd a year, when they don't come in with it done at the factory. 30 - 40 a year. Curious on what they mean by "they have had better results with Patriot". Could it be the local Line-X franchise is sloppy on their work. I've had nothing but good results with our local Line-X franchise. The trucks come back looking like your picture.

I've done several DIY bedliner applications now, it is pretty much a onetime deal, cleanup is impossible. Does it justify a 100k machine? who knows.
What did you pay?

I remember as a kid my dad had an S10 with a drop in plastic liner. Anything in the bed not secured would slide around easy.

I was just in the OP's neighborhood and every other private pickup had aftermarket wheel mods.
Outboard wheels and those that lean towards drum like (somewhat Indy racer) in proportion.
It was almost odd.
I'd spend for the bed liner.

Love my plastic bedliner. If I can get it on the tailgate somehow I can load it by myself. Ratchet strap holds it down when its in.

I had mine out a few years ago and under was spotless. I presume somewhere with salt would be different.

I had my gladiator patriot lined also. I’m in the process of making a bed slide. Found out that the adhesion to the bed/metal is pretty dang solid. After I drill the initial holes for the riv nuts, I’m going to have to sit there with a dremel and painstakingly remove material for the flange to sit correctly. My test hole was a complete pain… which I guess is good. lol.

They told be they have done over 10,000 spray bedliners in 10 years. But their real business is painting expensive machines. Told me they were painting a $600K machines the day I was there.

I was think about using the DIY Herculiiner kit from Amazon for $99 on my Maverick. It's just a truck box and I have seen very good results with the kit. Currently I just have the bed mat and tailgate screw in mat with a Truxedo bed cover.

The Line -x on my Ram is twenty years old and still in good shape other than a little peeling on the tailgate. I'm not easy on the bed either so it's been a definite plus for the truck. I wish the whole truck was covered in that stuff.

Ah, so the $100k investment isn't solely for spraying bed liners, but is an entire auto paint system?

No. I believe it's just for spraying bedliner. I am just saying they do a lot of high end work with coatings. The company name is Performance Coatings. Told my 90% of their work is commercial. 10% retail.

I think one shop switched from LineX to Patriot. I believe the spray equipment is Graco for either brand. Maybe LineX was more expensive to be a LineX shop since LineX does more marketing.

Like many things, a big part is the prep and skill/experience of the tech doing the work. They need to scuff the paint enough and get it dirt and grease free.

Here is the first page of the Graco spray machine manual.

My BIL did his truck with the Rustoleum brush on kit and he is still quite pleased with it. That was several years ago.
