Yes. It's for disk brake caliper shims and for alot of other things. I just use it on my disk brake calipers though. Nice stuff. It comes in a tube.

I say neither. Get this stuff http://www.permatex.com/products/Automot...iper_Lube_1.htm

It is more of a universal grease that can be used pretty much any where a grease is needed. It is safe for most plastics and rubber compounds. The other 2 are more of a specialty grease, unless that is what you want?
You can use any of those greases on the back of the pads around the piston, like brake quiet compund. You can also lube the caliper slide pins/bolts with any of them. If you want the absolute best for brakes only, get the extreme version with ceramic. As long as the pads are shimmed, you don't really need brake quiet or grease. Just my opinion but I find that if you use too much brake quiet, it will make the brake pedal feel spongy. Grease attracts too much brake dust and dirt. Unfortunately, you can't buy cheap brake pads and expect them to be very quiet, even with coating the back of the pads. I recommend you buy a decent, middle priced road and apply no coating to the back of the pads.

I always use NAPA sil glyde, doesnt wash, and have had no issues with it. Available at NAPA.

I agree about buying good brake pads. I never used the permatex stuff though. I have the Syl-Glyde left over from my dad. The stuff is pretty old but works still.

thanks, I think i have that green bottle some where around my garage. so the green stuff u recomment can be use on brake pad shim and brake caliper slide too, and inside the rubber where slide in and out.

Yes, scroll down on the link I posted above and click the icon that says TDS. It will tell you more about it. I really recommend that stuff because it is a good all purpose grease, has no bad odor, doesn't burn your skin or cause any other problems.

In response to the other posters, I have found Sil-glyde and most any high temperature grease will work just fine for lubing slide pins.

And I meant to say "buy a middle of the road priced brake pad" in my first post. woops.

that's what I've been using the green bottle. no problems-never on the shims though, just the pins. Buy a bottle and it will last at least 2 generations
