Mixed some mmo, stabil blue, atf, made a mix of 32 oz, added 4 oz to 36 gallon tank of regular gas. Gas mileage increased from 15.45 to 17.35. Will continue to test. It was fun anyway. All pinging stopped now.

well, from what i understand, using ATF (automatic transmission fluid to you newbies) in the fuel will really clean out carbon deposits and gunk of that sort. its like taking Seafoam (god bless that stuff) and sucking it through your intake manifold vac port. really cleans her out. im not certain on the specifics of doing that ATF trick, but maybe theres someone who does know. and the only damage i could possibly see this doing by putting ATF in someones gas tank, is possibly damaging the oxygent sensor and/or the catalytic converter.

I have tried lucas UCL, it did not do anything by itself that I could tell, so I read in here some folks used atf in the gas, so I mixed it as above with mmo and some stabil blue marine mix, so I hve got enough cleaner imo and the stabil really straighten out bad gas and the affects of E10. The aft Im using as a UCL. My chemistry mite not hold water, but so far its working. Its a hobby I guess. I did not or the engine did not do anything spectacular using a techtron additive or Regane, so here I am at the moment, but Im having fun. Have not tried it with E85 gas yet, but at $2.29 a gallon for it, its tempting to try since E85 gives [censored] gas mileage on regular engines

Since you're playing alchemist in your basement add a little zylene, and maybe even some methanol at least your car would have more power. As for the increased mileage? Better eliminate all the other variables that could have increased your mileage like temp, wind, tire pressure, and driving conditions.

****Big Bold Letters in my owners manual, says no methanol, never said how much though....

LOL. It's his car, none of that stuff will kill it, let's see what the results are. 8 tanks ought to give enough data to tell if it's doing anything, or if it's too noisy.

courier -- you remind me of when we were kids, and used the chemistry "sets"available at the time.a few household items were mixed in, at random, many times. we used to be able buy carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) as a spot remover!back then, the under the kitchen sink "household cleaning product" area contained some very nasty and dangerous chemicals.my days of alchemy ended after i took out part of a shed wall, and was given a minor beating -- considered acceptable discipline at the time.
the point of this trip down memory lane -- please be careful what you mix together, and put in your car, because i enjoy reading your posts.

Im keeping it simple today,,just ran regular gas lol, still no pinging on long hill climbs. Most ofthe time I buy shell gas, who knows if its really shell gas though.

ATF may provide a bit of lube.
It is not a cleaner - it will actually leave MORE deposits.
Much better to use MMO or 2 stroke oil .

Stabil fixes E10?? How?? Long term storage is what Stabil is used for.

4 ounces into 36 gallons is an extremely light dose. Ridiculously light to see any results.

If you got a gas mileage increase, look elsewhere for why.
