I have some unused Cat pump oil which is ISO68.My new Comet pump uses 30W non detergent oil.My question is can I use ISO68 oil in my pump safely?Thank you

They're almost identical additive and viscosity wise. Most iso 68 oils are 8.6-8.9 kv 100 while sae 30 tends to be more 10-11 but the 30 grade range is 9.3-12.5 to be exact. It's basically a super thick 20 almost a thin 30. Iso 100 would be a 30 grade in equivalence.

I would buy this and mix both half and half to make use of it unless you can find a non detergent 40 for not much more in your area. No harm will come from it, It's such a miniscule difference. I've used 20 grade in compressors before with no issue. In my store it's not with the other oils and was close to the small engine spark plugs on the next isle over.

They have both a non detergent 30 that I've seen in stores and a "heavy duty" 30 grade with an SP rating which has an automotive additive package but I haven't seen the HD 30 in stores only online. They seem to have confused both bottles in the same listing that I linked.

The Cat pump on my dads pressure washer can also take ND30. I’m sure it’d be fine.

Change it often. They shed some metal.
