Cold Weather And EV's

You forget that in recent past you would have argued the trip was impossible for an EV. Now it is possible, even practical, you have nothing left but to complain about but mandatory rest stops.
Not true
You clearly have never timed an interstate gas stop else you would know my data is correct.
Ummm not true
The reason you do not know where EV charge stations are located is because they do not have billboards advertising their presence. All EVs have navigation systems which know where the charge stations are located. Tesla's are cellphone linked, instantly updated, even displays in-car status of how many others are already there. A small Tesla Supercharger site has 8 charging bays.
This doesn’t matter to me and I never said I don’t know where the charging stations are.

Not sure of your point to reply to me.
It’s fact. It’s much faster, convenient and easy to fill a car with gasoline then it is charge a battery in an EV.
How one can deny that is beyond me,

BTW I am sure you have read S. Korea just fined Tesla for misleading its public for not disclosing driving range can be reduced by as much as 50% (fifty percent!!!!) in cold weather, another inconvenience for distance travelers.
I mean this stuff is fact, I don’t care what people choose to drive but respect facts and limitations.

Same thing happened to Tesla drivers here in the USA during the recent cold snap.
The experiences are all published including from government agencies and even verified from another Tesla owner in this very forum.

To repeat I don’t care if an EV owner doesn’t mind just don’t deny the limitations and inconvenience for many doesn’t exist.

That your lamps (LEDs?) work. That your brake pads and tires aren't worn thin. I think those are worth it. We on here probably take care of them ourselves, but many don't based on vehicles I see daily.

That your emissions systems are reported healthy by OBDII. That MAY be guvmint overreach.
I love living in a non inspection state after living in an inspection state for 40+ years I see no difference. Except there is no abuse by inspection stations taking advantage of public for unnecessary repairs
Cops will give tickets for lights, worn tires, brake pads grind and squeak when worn.

OT I just heard on the news Tesla slashed prices on some of their cars again in China in the tune of 30%. Stock holders are not happy, and I'm sure there will be several people in the US rethinking buying one here until they slash prices more, or simply buy something else.

I’m sorry, I had to check myself, OMG, you are right, news was just released around 5am ish.
Going to be another interesting Tesla Stock market day.
One must keep in mind that Tesla had no earnings in the USA 2021, meaning no taxes were paid and its earnings came from overseas. Interesting to watch

Yes, I heard it moments before I posted. I closed a TSLA put spread yesterday, not to get too greedy. LOL

I only wish, once again I had the guts to act on my convictions sometimes.
My posts on Tesla in this forum over the 2022 stock price was right on point.
Good for you, sure we wish for what we should have done but even though you closed it at least you had something to close!
Vs me = nothing

I wish I had the balls to short it. I pulled an order or two chickening out, the put spread was safer, but the short would have been a much bigger winner. As my father would say coulda, woulda, shoulda.............

Ive never seen a garbage truck double as a snow plow, but it's a good idea I guess?

No doubt they are having a hard time finding an electric to plow snow for 12 hours.

Seems like the wrong choice for that job vs anything that should be remotely surprising???

Apparently even the diesels dont work that well.

Let's be real. The garbage truck did ok, vs a double wing plow. Not great but ok. Nothing to do with diesel.

my older brother uses those words. Funny I’ll have to ask him he if got it from our father.

As if right now 103.25 couple more points and Tesla will be below 100, that would be earth shattering if it happens.
I would expect support but maybe that is all broken now. 30% price cut is huge but it’s also Tesla acknowledging how bad they have to get rid of inventory

LOL my father had a lot of catchy phrases, some were his originals, that one wasn't. Regarding TSLA, the only comments I have is if it breaks down below 100, it will be very a interesting bull bear battle. I'm happy with my outcome and done with it for now.

I remember one thing my dad would tell my brother, he would say there are "bulls, bears and pigs" if someone had a gain and didnt get out when the time was right.

I use this phrase, I've heard it in the opposite order, but I like using: "pigs get fat, and hogs get slaughtered."

Drove from SWF to PBI just over a week ago, 19 hours, 3 fuel stops. 5-6 minutes each.
Drove back 2 days ago, 20 hours, 3 fuel stops, longest fuel stop, 10 minutes, as I had to wait for the rest room. The other two were 5 minutes. 3 mins to fill the car, 2 mins for the rest room. 1353 miles each way. And yes, I move out.

When real work needs to be done, liquid fuels are required. Just try powering a 100% efficient 3000W electric stove burner with a portable battery carried along on a camping trip. Lithium batteries are 270 watt hours per KG (2.2 pounds) Put another way, a 25 pound battery can produce 10,000 BTU, or about the same as 9 ounces of fuel oil.

Yes, but would you win a 1/4 mile race?

See how pointless that sounds? Im not driving a hotshot truck. You're not drag racing your semi or whatever. EVs work amazing for me, and some others, but poorly for you and others who drive for a living.

Same as trucks are stupid for some people and corvettes are stupid for others.
