I have a Ram similar to the one in the video. They call it tap start or something like that. All you have to do is turn the key briefly to engage the starter than you can let off and it will keep turning over until it fires.
4 days sitting at -40 and then trying to start at -27. Not a surprise to me he had some noise. More than likely it was dino oil as well based on the labored start. I have had 2 HEMI Ram( that was a HEMI Ram )that have seen nothing but synthetic and I have started them in temps colder than that( -50 )without such a labored start and no noise( maybe a second or two tops of slight noise ). I didn;t do it after sitting 4 days though. Battery could have been worn and caused the labored start too.

It was a Heavy Duty Ram so it had to be a HEMI( only gas engine and that definitely was not a diesel ). Plus you could see the HEMI emblem on the fender.

My dad's '03 Tundra does this also. Just Tap the key, and it cranks by itself.
