She could have tied the end to the fence and threw the ball for buddie to go-fetch?

Old girlfriend was a vet and yes nylons were a problem. Buddie was lucky his made it through, many don't. Rocks are another big problem.

It's Cocoa that's bad for dogs and most other animals. You'll find that in bakers chocolate, some boxed dark chocolates and other candy to varying degrees.

M&M's and most other convenience store variety chocolate bars are made from "milk chocolate" which contains very little Cocoa. So it's OK to give Rex a piece of your Hershey bar, just keep him away from your wifes baking supplies!

my 1/2 lab and 1/2 german shorthair got onto the counter and ate a whole double batch of chocolate chip cookis that my wife had cooling one afternoon. She had a little extra coming out of the rear for the rest of the day, but seemed to have no other effects. I have heard dogs and chocolate are more similar to people and bee stings. Some are nearly uneffected and some react poorly. Needles to say, we don't take any chances, and are letting the dog outside when the cookies are cooling now.

Yeah, there are some weird things that dogs like to eat and some are very bad for them. Others on the list are antifreeze, corn, and cat crap. Also, don't let them chew on a bottle of Gorilla Glue, ingestion of just a bit of it will produce a big chunk that will block their intestines and require emergency surgery.

Corn itself isn't a bad thing, but corn sweetener is. Not that they put that in dog food. It's pretty difficult in this country to eat without consuming some corn product or another.
BTW who decided that corn was good for dogs, anyway? Wolves don't eat corn. But I do, and I like it.

Dogs can't digest corn, but as long as it's aflotoxin free, it's harmless.

I have one little Pomeranian that reacts BADLY to cheese, develops seizures, acts mean, etc.

Use to have a little female Pomeranian that loved grapes, back before I found out they were not good for their liver/kidneys.

Don't ask me how I know this. Oh, what the heck...

I have two goldens. They BOTH had surgery the SAME night because their guts were blocked with completely different things.

One had a plastic squeeker, some aluminum foil and a BIG staple, not to mention some other assorted garbage.

The other had 42 rocks and I ain't talking about pea gravel. I mean like 3/4" - 1 1/2" river rock.

That was an expensive evening at the Animal E.R.

A vet said bottle caps tear up a dogs insides. In the same talk, she suggested Goldens are worse than Labs about gobbling up indigestibles. She and the vet tech are both young and very good looking. I always grab a seat up front so my old ears can cope with their soft voices at the talks every year.
