CNBC : Why Tire Companies Love E.V.s'

Yep, and it is not equitable, at least here in sunny CA, because you pay the same if you drive 10 miles per year or 20K. And you would have to drive like 20K to consume the road tax. I think the EV road tax is something over $100 per year paid at registration; I forget.
Life isn't always fair. I can list more things that aren't fair in a few seconds geared against the ICE owner/mfg than I feel like typing. That's not going to happen, it will get me either a timeout or the boot from this site. Let's just say I'm hoping for change coming later this year. ;)

I'm betting those electric cars outweigh the trucks by at least 1,000 lbs if not more.
I understad IF most all the ICE cars are replaced with EV's in th near future (20 years?) then it will render many parking garages and some bridges obsolete, due to the increased weight per vehicle. More carbon footprint to demolish and rebuild infrastructure to accomodate the "green" EV's will be necessary. Its laughable at this point.

They’re only considerably heavier if we all keep buying oversized trucks and SUVs, but we need rolling living rooms to go to the store.

I’m still surprised how well some EV trucks are selling. Seriously though maybe there needs to be reasonable cap on vehicle weight because the the 24,999lb cap before CDL or air brakes isn’t related.

Ah, its truck and SUV's fault, I see.

Perhaps we should get a government permit to buy a truck or SUV? Maybe fill out a "justification form" to apply for permission?

No I’m saying the combination of truck and EV is a concern with weight. We shouldn’t have the capability of having a 9k lb Hummer EV as a passenger vehicle when it weighs 3x what a Corolla does. We know what happens in that scenario. The Corolla driver doesn’t have a chance if hit at speed.
