15,000km on this filter? There is nothing unusual about that OCI.

Also, if the person putting the filter does not fit it all the way up into the cap on the spindle with a twisting motion it will crush like that. This I know from personal experience with my OM642…….

This guy is a sprinter expert so I doubt it is crushed on install.

Seen that before on older Sprinters, and other cars. in at least 1 case it resulted in a turbo failure shortly after

It's not the result of that oci. it's likely the result from previous longer oci, or lots of idling
