Click-Bait Fake Thumbnails on Youtube Videos

What is with the thumbnails of so many of the videos on Youtube? Faked pictures of some ridiculous version of whatever the title reads, like a badly photo shopped whacky bridge or ultra futuristic looking jet fighter that looks like UFO or something. Between click bait thumbnails and fake news it's getting pretty stupid out on the interwebs lately.

It's inevitable and clickbait seems to the the latest worst trend on the internet especially where they can get paid for stuff like this. Check your youtube subs and clear your cookies/browsing history. Most YT videos are recommended based on your subs/viewing history.

It's the new generation trying to make a living on YouTube. It's gonna just get worse with time.

Yes, there are loads of those idiotic video links. If I see something in one of my usual topics, I simply ignore it. If it's too good to be true or too far fetched, I don't even bother, since it just encourages them. If they can't be bothered to do a thumbnail from the actual video, then the video isn't worth watching.

Back then the thumbnails were a snippet from the actual video now content creators can use their own image for the thumbnail to disguise an hour long rant or an idiotic topic.

IMO other video sites are leaps and bounds better feature-wise than youtube. Youtube is just a money maker platform for some people.

Dailymotion constantly crashes my browser, hate that. I also only use Chrome browser on Youtube so I can use the "video block" feature.
