I have a Clear Bra installed a couple weeks back. Last weekend we had a butterfly storm! well The yellow butterfly guts set in the material. I tried everything and ended up using Ethyl ALCOHOL. I made the mistake of using a polishing compound and now I have a quarter size dull spot! I wonder if this is common? I notice the ads for the Clear Bras never mention bug guts removal ease? They only preach sand blasting/stone damage protection. Be warned!

Polishing compound is a mild abrasive. This would potentially leave a dull spot on paint or clearcoat as well. I have had my clear bra on my car for about 2 years now, and when I have bugs, I use just soap and water. Eventually, the bug spatter soaks in enough moisture to get it off.

Remember to wax your clear bra. Wax will help prevent things from sticking to it. I use Zaino on my car. The bugs wipe off more easily.

I know a really screwed up using the polishing compound, but look how much I learned from this expensive mistake. Off the phone with a clear bra installer. He told me that they let the Sun bleach out the remaining bug stain. I wish I knew
that before I did $100 worth of damage.

Look at the bright side: It's only $100 damage if you actually have to fork over $100. Someday years from now you will yank that clear bra off and your front end will look showroom new.

You might want to try using some swirl remover, and try waxing it really well. That might reduce the severity of the spot.

I used 3M plastic polish but it took time for the yellow to come off. The best thing to do is protect the protector by waxing often. Mine never gets the permanent yellows anymore.

I use Vanilla Moose Wax (very mild polish with some "wax" in it) first to "clean" and its gentle and non-marring. Then I use Meguiar's #16 carnauba wax, or NATTY's WAX or S100 or liquids like Moose Wax with Carnauba or Meguiar's #26 Liquid. Just depends.

Just a update, My clear bra turned Yellow! it was Avery brand. I was told by a employee at detailmasters.com that he has seen clear bras crack and inpossible to remove without removing the paint after a period of time in the Hot Texas sun.

This detailmasters employee was contracted by my employer in California to remove overspray from several cars from a water tower installation project.

What a shock for a newbie strolling into the room for the first time to hear the men talking about their bras and how to care for them!!!!!
