Any dry solvent will strip the fiber of any stain repellent coatings like Scotchgard, Stainmaster, Teflon, etc. Use with caution, as that area will be SUPER easy staining in the future if not re-treated. Unlikely to remove colored stains. Easy to damage the bond between the backings, cause wrinkles, etc.
