Alright, I have to say this. Should North Carolina be applauded for ordering this dreck off shelves? Absolutely. Should City Star be driven out of business? You bet.
But doesn't the consumer bear ANY responsibility here? Every owner's manual for every car ever made has a section on oil requirements. If people can't (or won't) RTFM and take the 5 minutes to learn the correct oil (and other simple things) their car needs, then, well...you can lead a horse to water...
I have only limited sympathy for people who buy an expensive, complicated machine then take zero initiative to learn anything whatsoever about it. Most people treat their cars like they are kitchen appliances, that's why so many will condemn a car as a POS when in reality it was their own complete lack of basic care when it malfunctions.
