Chrysler 68rfe rebuild or replace?

The Solenoid Pack for all intents and purposes IS the Valve Body....The only dynamic valve in the part usually considered the Valve Body is the Solenoid Switch Valve & 3 Isolator Plugs.

Chrysler has some wacky engineering compared to other transmission manufacturers.....Though it's elegant in it's own way.
Interesting. Maybe I should have just changed that out. Probably not worth it now. Although I never did drive it for any great distance in limp mode, always pulled over and restarted the truck to reset it.

Like I stated earlier in this thread....The Solenoid Switch Valve & Isolator Plugs are known to wear the lands in the Accumulator Body.....Requires reaming & oversized valves.

You can see that the center Isolator Plug has the anodized coating stripped off from cocking in it's bore. TransGo sells kits for this (Need to know the original diameter to order the correct kit)

Understood. So would it be a worth while gamble to change this out at this point with 240,000 miles? $1400 is cheaper than $10k to tear down the whole thing.

$10,000 is Suncoast & ATS prices.

You'd only lose the fluid & labor if the Solenoid Pack & Switch Valves didn't fix it.
So how much to do a full rebuild with everything you described in post number 7? Isn't there also a check valve of some sort that people typically remove in warmer climates?
