Havn't really been away, a watching brief I think you'd call it. I have 15 different hot sauces in work fridge and drawer. If it doesn't have Chilli I don't eat it basically.

Explain 'chili restaurant' please
You really don't want to know what Cincinnati chili is. Most places it's just a weird concoction with cinnamon......not my cup of red.
I'm not originally from Cincinnati so I was rather amused when I found out what "Cincinnati style" chili was. It's not even chili in my opinion. It's a very thin, soupy concoction that they serve over spaghetti and then cover with a huge mound of shredded cheddar cheese. People around here seem to love the stuff, but I don't care for it. There are dozens and dozens of these chili restaurants all over the area.
Yuck!
So what is non Cicinnati chili? When you say chili restaurant you mean minced meat with chili added or something else entirely?
Maybe some confusion between the dish aka Chilli, chili, etc
and chile peppers aka capsicum sp.
