I got a new key made for my Jeep at HD and it started the car, which ran for 15 seconds, then stopped and a flashing "key" incon came on. So I found out my Jeep has a chip key. I see the blanks for $8 on Ebay to $30 on Amazon. They all seem to require 2 working keys to program, which I have. Are all these keys the same? I cannot imagine too many companies making chip key blanks. On the other had, do not want to get one only to be stranded if it failed. In reality I probably would not use the key, it would just be another spare.

I wonder how much they are at the dealer? I recently paid $8.00 for a single lug nut. (Someone who was missing one probably took mine.)
