Chevron Supreme VS Delo 400

I´ve alwalys been a Chevron fan, switching between supreme and delo..now i´ve been reading all this threads about these two and can´t decide which i should use. I think supreme has moly, that makes it better?

I mix them for a thicker additve-boosted PCMO.

If you can't decide mix equal parts supreme 5w20 with delo 15w40. It will be a pseudo 10w30.

I would choose depending mainly upon my desired drain-interval. If I was going to an extended drain interval, I'd choose Delo 400 because it has a much higher TBN, so it can run much longer. If I was going to stick with what I had already been doing OCI-wise, I'd stay with Supreme. There's no sense wasting the extra $1/qt nor wasting the fuel on a 15W40.

Supreme's moly (if it has any; I don't know) is a friction modifier and is there primarily as a fuel-economy improver, but it could also provide some anti-wear, IIRC.

Not necessarily. At least one of the Chevron distributors here carries it in gallons and quarts, too.

The distributor in Kennewick, WA also carried it in small packages.

I just bought a case of 12 x 1 quart from a local oil distributor for $26 (for a Kubota tractor that specs. 10w30). Chevron is not very available in Michigan. That's why I had to purchase it from a fuel distributor. I heard that it is more plentiful out west.

I don't know where you are in Michigan but I am in Hazel Park and you can get Chevron oil at walmart stores and a good oil very similar to that is Delvac by mobil I believe and that is widely available but the best price I saw was at Costco's.

I can get Delo SAE 30 weight at AutoZone. What to do with it is the question. Would it have ANY Cold-Cranking or Multi-Visc properties if I mixed it with Delo 15w40?

Don't forget that Delo 400 is also available in 10W30.

Delo has moly also.

I'm glad others know that. I don't know if most folks know where/how to get ahold of it (i.e. call the local distributor).
