Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF

I can pick this stuff up here on the left coast. What is your guys take on this product? Has anybody ran this stuff? For it to meet the Mercon V spec. Does it have to be full synthetic or semi-synthetic? I thought I read on here all Mercon V is full synthetic?

I was going to switch from Matic D to Castrol MVI or Chevron MD-3. You guys said to not even bother with the Dexron III clones. After reading some threads on Castrol spec's in the oil section. I'm shying away from Castrol products. Chevron products are easy to find here in Oregon.

Nothing wrong with Castrol products. So, no need to shy away from them.

The Chevron MV ATF looks very good. I would definitely use it over the md3.

The only problem with this Chevron MV ATF is they sell it to shops in 55G drums. I called up a local shop (courtesy Chevron representative) and the guy asked me for $3.99/Q and told me I have to get gallon cans and that he will fill it up for me in the back of his shop while I stand near the counter. I said no thanks.

But if you look closely it is Chevron Mercon V dito. I asked Chevron rep as to why they have both the same specs, he told be about the controversy of MerconV with some shops hesitent to use it as a MV ATF.

I doubt you can get it even in 5G pails. Good luck and keep us posted.
