Chevrolet Suburban Owners, Buying used need advice

Looking to buy a 1997-1999 (more than liely a 1999)chevrolet suburban K1500 with 4x4 and 350 engines are what im finding.What problems should I look for in a used suburban? One I found had a window that would not rool up all the way unless you helped it, is this a cheap and easy fix?

Mileage wise it will have around 130K for ones I can afford. One I found had oil pressure which was around 60-80psi on the guage what does his mean? It ran smooth but the high pressure has me concerned. It was not in the red but gauaged pretty high.Is this something normal for these engines.

How many mpg have you got with your trucks city and highway?

are two of them, other than that i would just apply your other car experiance to your shopping, window regulators and window motors are not hard to do yourself and there are plenty of them in the junk yard for used parts.

as far as the mpgs go,, i have owned four of these 1- '98 1- '99
1-'02 and 1-'04 the 99 got the worst mileage and the rest got about the same high 15mpgs in town and 18 to 19 on the road.

i dont believe the oil pressure is an issue at all

if your not handy with cars take it to a repair center you trust and spend a little money having it looked over.

when i test drive a car i try out everything, i take them for a long drive at least ten miles on the highway on the city streets on a rough road if i can, i try out all the options ask tons of questions.

see if what they are telling you matches with what condition the truck is in.

ask for reciepts for repairs, otherwise its just a nice story on repairs, i like cars and trucks that have been owned for a while by folks

ask why they are selling it, does their answer make sense?

The AC lines that run to the rear unit rub against each other and wear through.I weld the holes up in the truck but if a shop does not know howto do that the labor would be major expensive

The oil pressure is probably not that high.

Most likely the sender is bad. If not the gauge is.

If it's highway miles it's probably ok.

If it's got high off road miles you don't want it.

130,000 miles in nine almost ten years wont likely be highway miles, but good point about the off roading, although i believe the body would show lots of wear chips minor denting on the lower body panels

My 2000 year model has been excellent. I've owned for the last five years. All I've needed to do is change the oil and transmission fluid, tires, plugs, plug wires, and rear brakes. That's it. Just general maintenance, no repairs.

On mine, the original plug wires were [censored]. This was the first time that I've changed plug wires and noticed a difference. A BIG difference.

In my opinion, 130K on a Suburban is "just broken in", if it has been taken care of.
