Chevrolet Pickup Truck Parking Lights

I know what you are talking about and have seen this hundreds of times. I finally looked it up:
  • Widespread issue: Chevy trucks commonly experience one burned-out running/parking light across various models and years
  • Voltage problems: Excessive voltage to light circuits can significantly reduce bulb lifespan
  • Dual filament design flaw: When one filament burns out in marker lights, it can stress others in the same circuit
  • Electrical corrosion: Circuit board corrosion in fuse boxes can create resistance affecting one side more than the other
  • Passenger side vulnerability: May be more affected due to proximity to heat sources or differences in wiring routing
  • Solution option: Many owners recommend switching to LED replacements for longer life

Why does the passenger side parking light on Chevrolet pickup trucks stop functioning for the last 25 years (or longer)
GM's have had a serious issue with headlights out on one side or the other. Next time your out just count how many have DRL or others out. Could simply be that there are a ton of these vehicles & many don't realize it or don't care to maintain the burned out bulb.

I too have noticed the same thing with the daytime running lights. I have a neighbor who is local ACE hardware store owner that had this issue, and he never replaced the bulb. Finally, after some years the other side burned out. So now at least they match. 😄
