Quite surprised you never had the infamous GM intake leak.

I would be checking that oil every three weeks or 1K at-least. Even if you feel no consumption occurs, you should still check it for dilution purposes associated with the intake leak. Some of those leaks gett big & nasty in a hurry. Others don't acquire major leaks.

Keep rolling that dice - or check that oil mark occasionally.

That was posted 12/19/06. I'm not much of a gambler. Also never raise the hood of wife's 01 Gran Marquis. It's somewhere over 100,000. Any inherent design defect about to ruin my day there?

I check weekly at least. First car was a VW that leaked so much I carried a gallon of recycled oil in the trunk. Just got in the habit.

My Subaru has a taste for 5w30 at 80 mph interstate travel, too, so I keep an eye on it. 5w40 doesn't seem to be used as quickly.
