The vast, vast majority. Look in the small holes, there will be a black (nitrile) or red (silicone) piece of rubber behind them.
 
Yep. There are a few instances where a like thread filter will be available with or without ADBV's, but they won't typically be spec'd for the same engine. The exception would be if there was an evolution to ADBV's on a newer design and they eliminated the part number without one. The action might not be from the OEM but might be what a filter line does to reduce inventory for the vendor.

Now if you're referring to an additional ADBV on the outlet side of the filter, there was one brand in Oz that featured this. It was bought out by another concern (I don't recall the name), but is used on some engines that require true back flow prevention. Your typical ADBV is there to slow/delay backflow.
