I've tinkered around with freecycle a fair bit. I used it to get rid of an old chair that the Salvation Army didn't want due to a small rip in the back that no one would see anyway. I haven't taken anything from anyone, but there is a bunch of potentially useful stuff there.

BTW, www.craigslist.com has a "free stuff" section, too.
 
My dirty mind cringed at this posting:

Interesting post. Could be a handy way to rid one's self of those unwanted items without having to tote them to the thrift store. Make the recipient come to you!!!
 
It is well known that people frequent FreeCycle to pick up items for resale. If their time is worth no more than that, then I am happy to be able to contribute to their situation. That is one case where I think our economic system works the way it should.
 
If we wait long enough Mokanics GC might show up here.




If he sold it for $1 qt, he would be rollin in the cash.
