Last year I bought my kid a RedPocket prepaid plan for $30/year. This year, the price is $60/year - it includes 100 minutes/month, which is fine - it's really for emergencies only. Are there any other plans out there for less?

Thanks!

My Tracfone renewal has been around $55 a year. I buy 100 texts for $5, or something stupid like that, then get a coupon for 365 days of voice for another $50.

Thanks. I was able to renew it through RedPocket. Ended up being $42 for the year with various taxes and regulatory fees, 200 minutes, 1,000 text, 200 MB data per month.

I don't know how legit TextNow is, but they have been around for a long time and it is $4.99 upfront to buy a SIM card then no monthly charge for calls and text only. I think they play ads when you make a call before it connects to the person you're calling.

My 13yr/old uses a cheap flip phone from tracfone. It's a lot more $ than what you guys are paying though. It's ~$16/mo for unlimited talk, text and data. It has basic internet connectivity, which we limit.

The rest of the family are on a 5 line plan of unlimited everything for $125/mo all-in through cricket. I have had this plan for years.
