Yup, Smitty's is still there...

Super S® Full Synthetic Motor Oil Smitty's Supply, Inc. dexos1 5W-20 Global

+1 for Mobil 1 jugs at Walmart. The non-EP oils are $22.88 minus $12 Mobil rebate gives you a jug for $10.88, no sales tax on motor oil since it's in Alabama. At that price you might as well stock up on the rebate maximum of 2 jugs.

Either Super S or National (sold at Menard's) would be your cheapest option for a non rebated oil.

Anymore details on this rebate everyone is talking about? How does one read about it/get it?

Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend meets DEXOS & it's $15.XX for 5 quarts at Walmart currently. I say go with the MaxLife, Quaker State blend or Pennzoil Gold syn blend if you want the cheapest. Or you could even try SuperTech full synthetic, meets DEXOS now if I'm not mistaken & comes in at $17.XX/5quarts.

Ended up going with Pennzoil Gold. It was slightly cheaper per 6 qt ($21.94) than the QSED ($22.14). Oddly the 5 Qt jug is $0.50 higher but the Qt Bottle $0.70 Cheaper. Probably should have gotten the QSED Jug + PG Bottle (as I suspect they are the same oil) for $0.50 cents less but I didnt.

Locally Proline Synthetic was $3.99 a Qt and Kmart didnt have the Smitty's Blend.

Managed to get the Motorcraft FL2062 for $5.05 at the local Motorcraft distributor who had 120 in stock. Advance wanted $18.99 for the Purolator Classic boxed version and Walmart didnt have the FL2062 (would have been $9.02 ordered from Walmart online).

PS I might consider a Full Synthetic later but since this was an early break-in oil change and will likely not see a full IOLM run either I couldnt really make a case for it unless it was a House Brand.

Funny - I saw the same thing and made the same choice when I bought 6 qts for a short interval on my new 2016 Colorado last week. Dumped the factory fill at 1000 miles and plan to run the Pennz gold for a 3k mile interval. Overkill? Probably. However, a few short intervals can't hurt during break-in.

Not necessary considering how tight the specs are now for engines but I agree, wont hurt a thing

By the 5 qt. jug, 3.49/quart. Good enough for me, no rebate hassles.

It will also likely end up replacing the MC 5W30 in my F150 as well so something in a comparable price range would be nice.

I agree. I will probably run this in my Jeep as I like the Dexos spec.
I filled my Jeep Patriot with Castrol GTX Magnatec 5w-20 Dexos 1.
