Cheap math on supposed longevity benefits of premium vs. regular

My local Costco sells 87 with 10% ethanol or 91 with no ethanol.

Premium costs ~12% more at Costco which is less than a typical gas station so I put it in my HR-V.

Started doing it after coming across a thread on a Civic forum which uses the same R18 engine as the hrv.

My results were similar. The car starts up faster, seems smoother, gets better mileage and feels like it has more power.

But this is all in your head, it must be, how could you tell the difference? 😉

It's not like you drive the car every day.

Honestly, I notice the same thing with certain engines we have had.
