In my 700r4 right now I have about 3/5ths pennzoil dex3H and 2/5ths supertech dex3 along with about 9oz. of Bar's Stop Leak. It was slowly leaking around the speedo sensor I believe and it seems to have stopped it for the most part. There is about 8-10k on it now. I just picked up 15 quarts of Maxlife ATF on closeout for $1.50 a quart. Should I change out the atf for the winter? Would the Maxlife ATF keep the sensor leak in check? What of the Bar's Stop Leak, is it any good for the trans internals?

yeah, temporary fix, and likely changing out the fluid will help wick away some of the remaining stuff (Id imagine most gets caught in the filter).

How many miles on the existing fluid? How hard do you drive? In PA, going into the winter, heat wont be a big issue, and if you drive gently, it will be less prone to shear and be unsuitable for use.

Unless there is a LOT of miles on the AT, Id likely wait until the spring, fix the speedo sensor, and then replace fluid and filter. Then youre on solid ground.

I've got about 8-10k on the fluid now, and I drive very easily, very few hard accelerations. So u believe changing out the fluid and replacing with the Maxlife atf might cause the leak to come back? I will drain the old fluid out the trans cooler line. Filter was replaced 10k ago.
