Ok I have 98 S10 2.2L AUTO with 98K miles it has the 4l60e trans. I plan on running Auto-RX in it for 3K miles and changing the fluid my question is what would be the best ATF to get the most milage out of my trans. I have castrol DEX VI in it now Should I go with Mobil Dex3(syn)or Maxlife? what would be the best atf for me

Either. I use Valvoline Dex VI in my cav but it's personal preference. The valvoline is a full syn, the castrol and pretty much everything else is a syn blend. The add packs are going to be exactly the same, however.

They only rear wheel drive transmission they made that was speced for less than the 4l60e was the 4l30e and that was built in france. So it was probably cheaper for them to put a 4l60e instead of the leaser speced 4l30e. Since it was already built to take the 4l60e for the 4.3 liter.

I'm with JHZR2, that DEXRON(R)-VI is the appropriate recommendation and would certainly advise that you avoid the "one size fits all" fluids.

No not really it is kinda slow shifting from 3-4 somtimes. I figured its got some dirt trapped in the valve body. I recently had to have the TCC selnoid replaced b/c It would lock and unlock the the torque converter. I also had to have new busings/seals put in the front pump b/c it was pouring fluid.
