Here are old plugs that came out of a 2013 2.4 lea motor. Awd. Car has 107k on it. Unknown when plugs where changed last. I assume they where changed atleast once, since they where autolite and i doubt factory uses autolite. What do you guys think of old plugs?

Definitely not factory plugs. Also, Autolite XP5263 is an Iridium plug, which means those things most likely had a lot less than 107k on them. Based on their appearance alone, I'd say that they could probably have been cleaned up and put back in for some time still.

JMHO, of course..

Acdelco 41-108s went in. Noticed no difference from the autolites. But atleast i know when they where done. Also in all the pics starting left is 1-2-3-4

Definitely not original being Autolite. They probably work OK, but aren't the best fit. Was the engine driven a while before removal? Or was it started long enough to be moved in a spot to do the plugs?

it was driven about 35 miles before i did plugs. Let it cool down for about a hour before i started.

When I bought my VW GTI used, someone had put Autolite plugs in it.

They looked about the way these do and caused misfires. Quickly remedied with OEM Bosh.

I see no reason to use Autolite in any of my cars.

Why do people put the wrong plugs in cars? Did it get serviced at a Ford dealership so they slapped in Autolites? I thought that you always installed the plug that was specified in the manual? Engine oil specified in the manual on the other hand.....

Yeah those plugs were not doing well.. They are slightly too cold from the looks of the carbon.

I don't know, I would not clean a fine wire Iridium plug. For the price of plugs, I toss them and put in new ones.

I have those Autolite plugs in my GDI Sonata, its running fine.

Autolite makes a good plug, they make the OEM plug for many Ford applications.

The OP noticed no difference with the new plugs. The old ones were fine, just some combustion deposits, that had no effect on the functioning of the plugs. Let’s look up the plugs. By the way, what is a 2013 Lea motor.

The Autolite website says those are the correct plugs for the vehicle. What's wrong about them? The only problem I see is that Autolite says:

Quote:
Note #3:
Do not use any grease or lubricant on the spark plug threads since this may result in over-torquing the
spark plugs, and could lead to engine damage.

And those plugs appear to have something on the threads.
