Muscle car guys have been swapping gears for decades. Why does this author sound like he's explaining something neew to the tuner crowd?

It really does stink, though, how you can't just buy a set of gears from Jegs or something for your import tuner. You have to get raked over the coals for a grand by some shiester that figured out they are all mazda gears.

just because it runs at a lower rpm does not mean it will get better gas mileage....your goal of 3600 rpms might be more stressfull for that engine compared to current. not even worth it one bit.

It was designed to run like that, if it really bothers you, I'd suggest getting rid of it.
