Anyone here ever use Champ oil filters? I have one on my vehicle right now. Does anyone know their filtering abilities? They seem to be a well made filter and I have been using them for some time now. Also are they identical to Super Tech filters? I had both of them in my hands today and the Champ seems to be a better filter by appearances.

I believe that "Champ" is the self branded filter from Champion Labs. Champion Labs also makes the SuperTech, Bosch-USA and many AC-Delco filters as well as others.
It seems that Champion makes filters with differing media and other characteristics to suite the various brand labels.

Not sure but I think that they use the same media. Question is, do they use equal amounts. Cut them open to find out. I know that the ST for the FL-820S application has plenty of media, but the center tube is flimsy. I recently cut open a Motorcraft FL-820S and the ST2 to compare. Media looked very similar and in similar quantities, but the center tube on the ST2 was soft enough for me to dent it with my finger with moderate pressure.
Did not leave me with the warm fuzzies. I woule be interested to see if the center tube for the champ is stronger...
I cut open a Champ a while ago and I remember that it had a very good amount of filter media and a lot of pleats. When I compared an unopened Champ to the ST, the Champ seemed a lot sturdier and a little heavier. I have been using Pennzoil 10W30 and a Champ oil filter for some time now and the oil stays clean for a long long time. It isn't even a really dark brown by the time I change it. I wish I knew the SPE and MPE of the Champ filters though. They seem to work great for me.
Yeah I know that Champion Labs makes the Champ filters, but does anyone know if they have the same media as the ST or ACDelco? Also does anyone use the Champ filters besides me? (I haven't seen them in any auto parts stores)
