Cermax seem to work

They want a distributor's name when you go to the store and want you to register. Have no idea who the distributor in my area is?? Do they want to sell or not??

I'm going to test this stuff on a smoking Civic with the help of Terry (he has not been told yet). We will get some data before we start. I'm putting the car through two cycles of Auto-Rx, replaced the valve seals and camshaft so we should have some before and after data and eliminate the valve seals and aux valve seals. The car will start the test with about 388k miles, head never off. I am corresponding with the designer of the product to make sure I understand what he has to say about how it works. This should give some practical info without too much expense. I know the real way to do this is to start with a controlled reference, do lots of lab work and some tear downs, with a bunch of measurements and photos. Not going to happen on my budget. And I don't sell the stuff so no flames, please. This product is different and I for one, want to take a look at it with a clear mind.

Hi, Lonnie.
I think it is smart to do the Arx treatment, since we are not familiar with how it works, in regard to eliminating sludge. How far are you in the process of ARXing the Civic and how long will it take for you to rack up enough miles.
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I really am interested in your testing, especially if you do compression and emission testing.

Here is some more info about it:
Jonny

I have been reading the posts, and if you would post this it might help clear up some of the confusion.

#1) A test that was conducted showed that with 60,000 miles on a car, it showed 100% still effective.

#2) It will not fix broken. However, one of the many strong suites is in restoring compression. This product literally “Wet Laps” the cylinder wall with the rings in Ceramic to form a ( more )perfect seal. That is why there is a considerable reduction in exhaust. EPA Certified labs have shown a 92% to a 100% reduction in opacity ( diesel exhaust ). When the optional product called Cermax Maintance Dose is used, the effect is VERY LOGN LASTING. The Cermax MD is 20% the original product( does NOT mix with the oil ), 80% Cermax that IS designed to mix with the oil. Don’t look for any mileage until the vehicle has had a chance to run with the MD.

#3) Last note. I read a post where the gentleman put the product into the engine with a fresh change of oil. Our product works quicker when added to dirty oil. The carbon in the dirty oil helps the process. In fresh oil, it will be equally effective; just will take a little longer.

Hello, All
I would like to introduce myself, My name is John Murray and I am the person that Invented this product CERMAX aka STM-3 and currently the Founder/CEO of Cerma Organic International Inc.
I am not here to promote this product Just to answer any questions you may have concerning Cermax Products. This will ensure those that are going to try it are well informed about the proper use and application of Cermax products.

Thanks, JM

Hello John, I got your email and we'll talk on Monday. I'm trying to setup the test to remove some of the questions before the start. I'm going to have Terry do some lab work. I'm happy to see you becoming a member of the BITOG family. Welcome!!!

Appreciate your willingness to mix and mingle with us here on the board.

How long has your product been on the market? Thanks!

You should think about a group buy to get BITOG members to try your product.

~If is works~ you'll soon have a group of enthusiasts singing your praise.

The first Auto-Rx treatment took the Civic from fail to past. I'm doing the second one to try to get everything I can and start with a clean engine before testing the Cermax. As I said, John and I are just starting our dialog and I think this test will be interesting. I'm glad that John chimed in. Monday I'll know more.

Some basic questions as I am not sure I fully understand the product or concept. I am sure there will other questions

Is there any way this product can harm an engine?
Will it "bond" with all metals. some engines have aluminum blocks.
Why would you ever need a maintenance dose if it bonds with metals? It must wear off over time??
Will it clean an engine of sludge/gunk? I see from Cermax that it desolves carbon?

An MSDS would be nice.

Cermax is a combination of a unique water based ceramic resin and lubricating solids including, a ceramic lubricating mole.

Is one pouring water into their engine with this?

This product sounds very similar to Microlon. I would be worried by something that has the potential to change tolerances as this must have if it can change compression.

From the patent:

As shown, the most likely ceramic surfaces would be those resulting from formation of silica (SiO.sub.2) or silicon-carbide-oxide (SiC.sub.xO.sub.y) coatings formed on pyrolysis of siloxane type.

Not a chemist here, but those are very hard materials. How do we know if they are crystalline or amorphous? How do we know that parts of this will not break off and start floating around in the oil causing abrasive wear?

One things for sure, it will skew a used oil analysis silicon reading...

I am glad that Lonnie is taking the trouble doing a used oil analysis. This will answer a lot of questions. Negative speculations without having tested it, is not the way to find out anything.
I guess we will hear a lot from Cermas users in the future.

Just a note as a lot of questions and I will get to each in time.
But let me say Patents are for lawyers and you should not take at face value, Cermax is neither Water or oil based ! It is 100% solids , And after six years of testing in real world testing/use as well as 2.6 years in my own airplane 750 hr's of flight time on treatment there has never been any engine damage or failure directly caused by the addition of cermax products. I released the product to the public as of OCT 2006 This only after 5.5 years of testing and 1.6 million spent to validate each and every claim that would be made.
I am just like you, I hate products the promise the world and once they have your money, produce very little results.
It's really simple Cermax is for real & based on pure science, No scams, No promises that never happen, If you don't get what you feel you paid for, Simple return it for a full refund. But I said I would not promote the product here, And I am not trying to do that at this point. I just wanted everyone to understand my feelings when it comes to this or any other product! If it is equitable exchange of goods for money and both benefit from that exchange in a positive manner! there is nothing better! Win Win

PS. This product does not flake off Ever, It does not change
Tolerances within your engine. It embeds in the Valleys of the existing metal/Alum then is lapped to a perfect fit no matter where in engine.

PSS: MSDS is on the cerma site for all to view alone with a lot of other data..Stop in if you get time.

Not trying to argue with here, but somethings are not adding up.

Significantly, in the presence of volatile precursors to these films growth around metal particles is facilitated. Under the conditions of a combustion chamber such ceramic film growth can occur on the surfaces of the combustion chamber, e.g. the rings, piston, etc. that are the hottest and under the most pressure leading to more efficient sealing and more efficient combustion. Structure B. Decomposition or Pyrolysis of Polysiloxanes to Silica (SiO.sub.2) or Silicon Oxy Carbide Ceramic Films

Sounds like dimension change. If you are not changing dimensions, how are you sealing rings?

It is 100% solids

So this is a powder or block? I don't have any in front of me, but if you pour it in, it is liquid based. What is the liquid?

Your product is harder than the engine parts. How is it supposed to be lapped? I see the reverse happening.

I could not find the MSDS on your site. That's why I asked before. Could you please provide a link to the MSDS. (You won't be violating forum rules because it is technical data, not sales info.)

Tempest, I see that you are interested in discussing all possible aspects about Cermax. Instead of using several hours and days to find answers to something that already have been solved by the inventor, why don't you just order a 10 dolar bottle and test it on a chainsaw, or something like that. I guess it is easier to accept that the product is working, when you actually see it with your own eyes. Come on now, order it,there is nothing to be afraid of!!!
