On November 18, 1995 I picked up my new 318ti Club Sport. It was my HPDE instructor car from 1996 to 2012 and it was accepted into the Keeneland Concours d'Elegance in 2018 and 2024.
Today I drove it to work to commemorate 29 years of ownership.

Wow from my readiness the 318ti is kinda od rare in the usa as it was only offered for 5 years or so. I don't see very many of them. I found the breakdown of the number sold in the USA.
1995 - 7238
1996 - 7238
1997 - 4622
1988 - 3735
1999 - 656

That is a nice well kept car, congrats. M Sport package? I notice the M3 door mirrors. I bought a 1993 E36 325i new, it was a wonderful car in mauritius blue and black leather.

Currently I'm primarily using products from Griot's Garage; Ceramic Wash & Coat, Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, Ceramic Speed Shine and Black Satin Tire Coating. I use 3030 Aerospace Protectant on the trim and BMW Wheel Cleaner Gel.
Wow, that car is awesome. Great job with it. God that car looks great.

Thanks for the info on the products that you use.

Of the above products which is it exactly that you use on the exterior black trim?
(side door panels and front bumper) the 3030?

Anything special on the interior?
(sorry if these questions seem elementary!)

My son is a big BMW fan and now actually has worked for them up in Spartanburg SC for quite some time now.

Big congrats, @MCompact! Great pictures and it still looks great.

This car peaked my interest while in my 20s. This and the VW GTi VR6. I still remember the Car & Driver magazine cover (and review) where they're pitted against each other. I ended up getting the GTi but would have been happy with the Beemer, too.

The Club Sport was essentially an M Sport but Munich only built 200 for the US in 1995- all with the M42 motor and M3 mirrors. 89 were Hellrot (Bright Red). The only options were premium sound, a 25% locking differential, and a sunroof. I only ordered the first two; Munich tried to force me to take a sunroof but my salesperson went to bat for me and it was built without a hole in the roof.

303 is used on the exterior trim. Inside I use Sonax Leather Foam and Sonax Dashboard Cleaner (matte finish). I've also used BMW, Meguiar's, and Zymol products on the interior with good results.
