Caterpillar oil filter for cummins engines

Just saw that Caterpillar came out with a filter that doesn't nèed adapters for Cummins engines. 10% more filtering. Anyone using them? Comments

No experience with that one but Cat has good filters. I imagine it's top of the line.

I'll be sticking with Fleetguard. They are the Cummins OEM brand.

I agree, I’ll continue to use the Fleetguard Stratapore.

Discussions I've seen are that it is being compared to the OEM Mopar/Fleetguard cellulose filter.

Also that this is nothing more than a Baldwin cellulose filter with expensive CAT logo and paint.

Cat 396-4596 is likely the one he is referring to.

I cant see it working better than the Stratapore Venturi with its parallel bypass.

Fleetguard is worth it for their warranty coverage if anything else. If their filter causes a failure they will pay for the engine. I have personal experience with this at work, and it was just that simple. Cat or Baldwin or any other manufacturer do not have anything like that.

Niet, my fleetguard is fine.
Fleetguard is like a $20 oil filter and ive seen them go nearly 800hrs on a Cummins 6.7l, cut them open they were real dirty but still going just fine.
