I went to the eye Dr. this morning and was told I need cataract surgery in both eyes. Anyone else have this surgery done before? Any input is greatly appreciated.

My father in law had incredible results, he has always worn glasses and had terrible eyesight. Now he swears that his vision is perfect. As I recall, his recovery time was also very quick.

Had my surgeries in 2014. My vision was remarkably iimproved. I chose distance vision only and wear reading glasses for close up work. There are several choices in types (and prices) in intraocular lenses. After surgery I no longer require eyeglasses to drive as I exceed the 20/40 DMV spec. Wife had hers done in 2020, and did not quite get the same results I did, but still in the very acceptable range. PM me if you have any questions I can answer.
Eye doctor told me last week I have a trace of cataract. Not enough for surgery. He said when I do get the standard lens. Don't get the fancy lens.
He also said there are doctors known for pushing cataract surgery as its how they make their money. Everyone who walks in needs cataract surgery.

Look forward to it, it will change your life and is painless and quick, the first eye I was nervous but when they did the second it was as easy as falling asleep (you are awake when they do it but it doesn't bother you), I would do it again in half a heartbeat.
I almost went blind with them due to steroids I had to take due to an illness, I couldn't even see the TV clearly anymore and couldn't drive or read well. Today 20/20, truly an amazing difference, everything is clear and bright, the colors look true, in fact it was a bit unnerving when I was looking at trees at how intense the colors were.
I've had both eyes done Blue, nothing to it. Mandatory physical by primary care doctor. Report to surgery center about an hour before surgery time. IV in back of hand. Wheel you into surgery center, you confirm once again which eye is being repaired. Anesthesia starts and next thing you know you are in recovery. I think they use about the same thing used in colonoscopies. You are awake and can hear talking but you are completely out of it. I remember the doctor talking to one of the nurses about getting the instrument he used for making incisions in eye sharpened. Everything turned out great and I could see much,much better. Be not concerned.
I had mine done ~ 5 years ago and it is so much an improvement I couldn't believe it. Do it. Ed

You'll be good at putting drops in your eyes 
I have Medicare and BCBS for my 20%. Every Dr. I have been to loves my insurance.
He means that you need to use eyedrops very frequently after the surgery. You'll get REALLY good at it!I don't get it.
You’d better hope they use a different device than they do for colonoscopies……

I had both eyes done four years ago. The pre-op drops are a pia. The surgery is a piece of cake. 20 minutes and almost no pain. Went from Mr. Magoo to Eagle eyes.
