Castrol Transmax ATF/CVT

This must be the most universal of all ATF’s I’ve ever seen. I thought most CVT fluids were exclusive to CVT trannys for obvious design differences.

ATF/CVT combo Oil

I saw this at Walmart ($19.87) and could not believe it. They now make a universal oil for conventional automatic and CVT transmissions. So, think of it as the "All Makes All Models" version of antifreeze. It's funny how some fret over using Max Life uni ATF, but now this? Not sure how this ATF...

New castrol transmax ATF?

Has anyone else seen this castrol ATF? It's full synthetic and supposedly works in CVTs and regular automatics. Would this work well in a Type IV Toyota transmission over the transmax multi vehicle import? It appears to be slightly thicker viscosity over valoline maxlife ATF.

Castrol transmax universal atf

This weekend I changed the transmission fluid in 2017 Explorer Sport that calls for Mercon LV. Checked local WalMart stock online they showed to have 7 quarts of SuperTech LV/dex 6 in stock. Get there and none left in stock. So I ended up purchasing the Castrol Transmax universal fluid...

I use Castrol IMV in my 03'Matrix, but will always use OEM CVT fluid if I'm ever forced to buy a car with a CVT.

I like generic universal fluids, but I don't think I'd use the ATF/CVT combo at this time

I do like Castrol's full synthetic ATF as well as their CVT fluid

I was also surprised to see this fluid in Walmart.....I had always assumed that CVT fluids were different than regular ATF's and there was no way a fluid could be spec'd for both.
Why were those previous threads locked?
