Have a Hyundai Elantra '05 with 80k miles.
Oil was Castrol Syntec 5w30 (US), OEM filter.
OCI was 1400 miles, 3.5 months.
UOA done at Fluid Life in Brantford, ON.

I know it's a short interval, but wanted to switch to Amsoil 0w30.
Previous oil was Castrol GTX 5w30, no-name filter..

The numbers in () are the for new oil, at least that's what Fluid Life says..

5 (4) - Si (Silicon)
5(2) - Fe (Iron)
2(0) - Aluminum
42(64) - Boron
709(765) - Phosphorus
816(860) - Zinc
2716(2964) - Calcium
0(2) - Barium
16(17) - Magnesium
97(109) - Molybdenum
1(0) - Vanadium
0(1) - Antimony

No water/Glycol/fuel.

51.0R(57.1) Visc 40C
9.22R(9.70) Visc 100C

I wonder why the oil went down on viscosity for such short period/miles?

Driving was 20 miles one way, a few days a week. But a week or two at a time, the car was not been driven.

Spark plugs were kinda old and worn, but no anomalies on them - Iridium IX, probably never changed before. I just changed them after the new oil change..

Should have saved that Syntec and used it in another vehicle because it had at least 6000 miles left in it.
