Here's my latest UOA on my Audi. I'm pleased with the report particularly with the fuel dilution, viscosity, and flash point. I think the over all wear numbers look good and the only elevated numbers Iron and Silicon are probably ok in that the voa numbers for those for that batch of GC are 4 and 7 respectively. Also the Air filter was on its last OCI life so that could have contributed to the elevated Silicon.

As for the lower fuel dilution between this UOA and the previous it appears that having the PCV systems serviced and all defective tubes and valves replaced and replacing the coil packs corrected that issue.

Also I ran a double Auto-RX treatment between both OCI's and replaced the valve cover gasket and there is no sludge on the top end. Some varnish that the Auto-RX treatment didn't remove but no sludge. The leaking valve cover gasket is where my 1 qt of oil usage went as now after the gasket change and up till it started leaking I never regardless of oil used saw any discernible oil usage.

Blackstone pointed out that the viscosity was a little high for a 0w30 but still within the SAE 30W grade range. Just what I wanted, Good ole GC anti shear properties as the VOA viscosity for that batch of GC was 66.2 SUS @ 210 F.

There was 4 oz of LC20 added at the beginning of the OCI and maybe 1 ounce more later in the OCI. I was out of LC20 and procrastinated on ordering more so I didn't follow the LC recommended 1 oz per 1000 miles on this OCI.

Looking forward to everyones comments.

everybody,

Oh yeah. I'm no expert in UOA analysis by any stretch of the imagination so if anybody sees something I'm missing I'd appreciate it if you'd point it out.

e40,

That is correct. I've collected 5 GC VOAs off BITOG, batches M030426B, M030426A, M040236A, M04076ADC, and M040976A and 1 VOA of LC20. 2 batches have Baron and 1 of those 2 has a trace of Moly. LC20 has Baron and no Moly.

The Moly that's on my report may be residual from the Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40 and Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w40 I used for the Auto-RX cycles.

If you read his original post, you will see how many miles were on the oil. Hint: It wasn't 26k.

I don't see anything above background noise. The TBN isn't too bad for 6 months, though I would have expected a bit higher. GC seems to be variable in this dept. If not for the TBN, there's not too much to complain about. 6 month OCI's appear to work well for you.

Pretty much not needed in a well designed oil.

Wear is showing quite low. I didn't do a search, but how does this engine do with TBN with other oils/other UOA's? (some engines are TBN eaters)

Out of curiosity I tried, to no avail, to search this forum for that. Me and the search engine on this new version BITOG don't get along.

Try using * when searching for 3 letter words or less. f.e. searching for "vw" will yield no results, searching for "vw*" will yield more results.

I wish the search didn't limit like that. I did a search for a VW GTI 2.0 and had terrible luck because they are all 3 letter words. Also R32, TDI, 1.8, TT, 2.5, 3.2 etc. all pose problems with the search restrictions.

Anybody else have tricks to search for 3 letters or less words? Why don't they fix that? It is a real pain.
