its just one of those things... like how cars originally equipped with superior lighting standards (E code: H4, H1 etc) are converted to inferior DOT standards here in North America... like why go to the trouble of converting to a clearly inferior standard? Because its North America thas why!

After checking the new SM specs carefully, it lookk like this oil is slightly thinner than the SL version, with a slightly lower VI. "Porsche Approved" has also disappeared from the spec sheet.
