Castrol Edge in 08 Pilot 3.5L?

I was just curious if anyone has any experiences with Castrol EDGE 5w-20 in the 3.5L engine found in an 08 Honda Pilot EX. I was wanting to try 0w-20 since Honda has back-spec'd this for several vehicles (including my Civic, which it runs GREAT in), but it's hard to find in a 5Q jug and is too expensive to buy individually. My dad picked up some Castrol EDGE 5w-20 on sale with a Bosch filter (not sure what model), so just curious if anyone has any experiences with this combination, good or bad... I'm sure it will do just fine... thanks!

BTW, it's a work commute vehicle and everyday driver on the weekends that gets about 90 city/10 hwy.

I can say for sure I have never had an oil make my car run bad. That being said do you really think you may see a difference between oils?

Nothing major, just the fact that 0-20 runs smoother in my car at start up than 5-20. Some will say it's in your head, but it's not. My 05 Malibu ran smoother off of Valvoline than it did Castrol. Again, it's probably not making a difference internally, but may sound and/or feel better to the person that hears it everyday.

You think all brands will make your vehicle feel and sound the same? I mean, what's the point of the 'what's the best oil for my car?' thread if that's the case?

ISLAC GF-5 is a rating given to modern day oils that pass a very strict series of tests. Therefore all GF-5 oils perform similarily and your car would run similarily provided it was the same weight of oil compared.

Perhaps your car knows the difference. None of my cars ever once complained, or ran bad because of an oil used. Then again only you know your car.
