Proud owner of a 2006 S2000 (EU version, 2.0L, 8900rpm).
Honda Manual states 10,000 km for the first oil change.
Honda extreme condition schedule states 6,250 km for the first oil change.
I'm in bumper-to-bumper traffic almost every day somewhat between 15 minutes to an hour sometimes more. I'm also over 100mph daily for extended periods of time, am frequently above 6000 rpm constantly on the highway, etc, etc.
I decided to get my first oil change at ~7,250, scheduled maintainence for tomorrow. Honda manual says: " 'ACEA A3/B3', API Service SL or higher grade, 5W-40 or 10w30."
I got my hands on a 5qt/4L bottle of Castrol Edge 5W-40.
On the back it says:
API SL/CF, ACEA A3/B3/B4.
My question is... isn't "CF" for diesel engines? I know oils can meet both diesel and gasoline engine standards, but do I want such an oil? Is there any reason not to prefer such an oil?
The Castrol website is even more confusing.
The UK site says the 5W-40 Edge is for turbo diesel engines.
The TR site doesn't mention anything about diesel engines, but, on the Turkish label on the bottle it does mention that it will perform well in turbo engines (does NOT say "diesel").
My thinking is this--as long as it meets the Honda requirements (ACEA, A3/B3, API, SL, 5W-40), I'm good to go, right?

Now, I know you don't know how to read Turkish, but, I'm sure you can see for yourself that you don't need to know Turkish to see the difference between "Turbo Diesel 5W-40" and just plain "Edge 5W-40".
