Castrol Dexron VI ATF as ps fluid

My 2005 Subaru STi calls for Dexron III for the power steering fluid. I have a bottle of Castrol Dexron VI I was planning on using it to flush my system. Is this a compatable fluid? Good choice?

I doubt it would cause any harm, since Dexron VI is suppose to be used in place of Dexron III.

Probably good - Definately overkill and still overpriced.

But .... overkill is the BITOG way!

Are you using the "Turkey baster" method or do you plan to pull a hose ?

Iuse a small hand pump and did the empty/fill routine three times this year. The old fuid was clear and bright red. However, I did 5 times 2 years ago.

The PS system is far too overlooked, I only see DexVI as a layer of precaution, in addition to occasional changes. ( It DOES get hot )

I pulled the hoses to do the flush. The dexron that came out was not as bright as the new fluid I put in - and this is only after 5500mi (2.5 years). I was a little surprised, but not shocked like I was by what came out of the rear diff.
