These two ATFs are both approved for Dexron VI applications, but 06519 is also approved for Mercon LV applications, and it's full synthetic, while 06822 is synthetic blend. Castrol Transmax 06822 Dexron VI has great reviews on Amazon, but I had a hard time finding any information on Castrol 06519 Transmax ATF. Has anybody had experience with it? I found that both of them have much lower flash points than those of similar products(around 170 vs above 200). I wonder if that is a disadvantage.

I did not see the two I mentioned at Walmart, though they carry Castrol transmax 06814 and 06820.
I can only find 06519 full syn at Autozone and Pep Boys at about $7 and $8, respectively.

One size fits all doesn't impress me as the best option. Is there a really good reason for not using the ATF that is most probably the best? Ed

Many people using Redline D6 reported better results than Mercon LV. Stock setup is not always the best. I just wanna use a high quality one that is also approved by the car manufacturer so that there will be no warranty issues.

Hi,
sam369 - I can assure you that Castrol's Transmission lubricants are amongst the very best at any price

They do make a diverse range for various applications so I'd stick with what is recommended
