CFM really depends upon use rate. If Im spraying continuous, sure, if just doing spurts, just having a surge tank should work.
 
Did some touching up of surface rust on suspension parts on the Saab today, when putting on snow tires:

Fluid Film will wash off before a full winter season if you do any actual winter driving. We bough GALLONS of Fluid Film to under coat a Dodge truck, put it on with an undercoat gun...it was completely gone by the end of winter. Our home brew undercoat lasted longer, and its just a mix of oil.

The best stuff I ever used for under coating was petroleum bright stock...it has loads of wax, and needs heated to spray; but it never comes off and is self healing.
