CART versus IndyCar at Laguna Seca

Mid/late 90's CART was awesome. Actually, pretty much any racing series I can think of was at its peak in the mid/late 90's.

I can't believe Herta's wins and this car were before Colton was even born.

Bryan was robbed by Zanardi at Laguna Seca in '96. I liked Zanardi but that was BS.

I love Zanardi but, yes, talk about a track limits violation!

I loved the CART series…but I completely lost interest after the merge.

To this day, I’m not a fan of Indycars at all.
I hear you, but it's still good racing. My wife Sue and I were at the 108th running of the 500 when Newgarden pipped O'Ward on turn 3 of the last lap. We were 100 feet past the start/finish. It was EPIC!!!

I don't miss CART except for a few special years, when Michael Andretti, Bobby Rahal, and Al Unser Jr. were in their prime. The owners were their own worst enemies. And so many road courses were parades. Even now it is that way with Indycar, much of the time. But today's oval racing is mostly better and more competitive than CART was, back then.

Just my 2 cents.

But then he comes back to win multiple gold medals in the Para-Olympics, only to later be run over while training and made bedridden for life. A real life tragedy.

He wasn't training, but competing in a race, and lost control.

The CART safety team set the standard.
