CarQuest filters made by FRAM again?

The other day I ordered a specific filter from AAP, it was for a tractor and the book had a part number I had never seen before that didn’t seem to cross reference to anything. Turned out to be a PH30 but that’s beside the point.

This is definitely a Fram filter. It’s identical to the PH30 in every way except the color. Is Fram making CarQuest filters again, or did I get some really old stock?

ETA: I’m about to get beat up for the Lucas sticker. Say what you will about their products (I’ve said more than my share against the stuff too) but Forrest Lucas does dump a TON of money into professional drag racing and he’s one of a handful of guys keeping the big events going. So there’s that.

It’s really two large companies now that make most of the oils filters in their various branding. First Brands and Mann &Hummel who make Wix, Purolator and a few others.

Looks like made on day 156 (?) in 2015. So it's a pretty old filter.

Think "First Brands" owns Trico from what I've read.

Take a look at Orielly auto parts filters, MicroGaurd. The model I use is made in Germany and rock solid. Cheap too.

The last CQ filters I got for a Massey Ferguson tractor were Baldwin. They were a Carquest 85806, made in USA by CLARCOR/Baldwin. The OEM filter is an AGCO 1447048M2 which appears to be identical to a Wix 51806, as far as I can tell. The OEM filter crosses to a Baldwin BT216.
The OEM AGCO filter has a black plastic standpipe just like the Wix/Napa filter, the Baldwin/CQ filter is a metal standpipe. Examples can be seen here, the filters used in the example aren’t the same filters I’m describing but the designs are very similar.

I dont use Lucas products, however they also pump a lot of money into the outdoor Motocross racing season.

I have been a long time reader and this is my first post. I have an ’07 Toyota 4Runner with a 1GR-FE V6. I went looking for a bigger filter and ended up going down a long road. I wanted to share and get input from some of the experts here. I doubt there’s any other place where people are this...
