How does nylon vs metal backing hold up for extended drain intervals? Wouldn't the heat/cold cycles make the nylon brittle?
I don't know if your filter would be installed long enough to make a difference?
I haven’t seen that happen. The Boss also uses nylon.
It must be a speced high temp Nylon I would think, Polyamide??? We seen many times before, the engineers got your back.

Are we suspecting that this filter is made by Premium Guard? Nobody has mentioned it yet.
I called PG. They make it. Soon a PG branded version will also be released called the Ultimate Synthetic.

It is for Toyota cartridge filters. There is a plug that unscrews, then you insert that and it drains the filter housing before you remove it.

My Toyota aluminum replacement just cuts the O-ring …
It works pretty well anytime that I've used them. I still have the plastic housing. Is yours OEM or A/M?

Both are OEM - the plastic works fine - just thought at +/- 5 years - it was time. Guess I’ll just get a new plastic cap
The tool "klickwrench" is beyond superfluous.
Stopping after you feel the housing "shoulder out" is all you have to do.

@Glenda W. Did they say the CQ EP has the same media as their new Ultimate Synthetic?
The link shows 99.5% at 25um which is better than the stated efficiency of the CQ EP (99% at 25um).

Yes. Same filter and media.
When I had called about the EP it was so new they had to contact engineering and get back to me.

Tell that to anyone who has had to service a over tightened filter housing. It's a cool tool, eliminates error, and does a very good job removing also.
