I think MicroGuard looks better than MicroGard even though it's spelt wrong. That's my contribution to this thread.

My bad. Carquest Premium, Microguard Select and NAPA Gold are all PGI now. Efficiency all really close too.

I ask for this reason. I'm visiting my son in VA and we just went to dinner. Driving down the road O'Reilly's and Advance Auto Parts are sitting side by side, even had a shared driveway. Which one do you pull into?

If you need oil as well just get the Carquest EP Synthetic which comes out to around $8 once you add it and your oil to your cart online for pick up... if you don't need oil then just flip a coin I guess.

There is zero difference, flip a coin to decide but I would skip the EP filter due to the lower efficiency.

I don't know about the Microgard Selects, but Carquest Premium comes in two flavors, Made in Vietnam and Made in China. The Made in China has a black (nitrile?) ADBV. You have to open each box to see what's inside.

The AAP manager let me open all that were on their shelves on the floor and in back because I only wanted to buy those Made in Vietnam.

Black ADBV or base gasket?

The China ones I have used always have the red/orange silicone ADBV and same great build quality.

I could have remembered backwards. It was several months ago when I bought mine. Regardless, they are physically different when looking at them, even if the black material is silicone.

The Made in Vietnam use a P-style gasket. Are the Made in Chinese the same? Or do they use the flat-style gasket?
