So the Conquest Blue are not similar to Wix?.... but they are to Puro?..... which one?.... Pure Ones?

This one is obviously made by Purolator. Carquest changes suppliers now and then - probably driven by the lowest bidder. I think Fram made them for awhile at one time.

Date code format is a good way to tell if it's made by either Purolator or Fram. Not sure if any other company has made them for Carquest. Base plate design usually gives a clue too.
Fram made them before Puro/M&H, and Affinia/Wix made them before that. I still have seven "Frampion" (Fram/Champ) made ones, and they use the laser etched (almost stamped looking) Fram style date code format:

I stockpiled a bunch of Frampion CQ Blue oil filters for my Ram. Date codes run from Nov. 2014 to March 2016. I also have some Wix CQ Blue oil filters showing overlap in production in 2014 - my last Wix made filter date is after my first Frampion filter date, but notby much. I have one Wix and one Frampion CQ Blue in my stash for my wife's Mustang.

IMO, the Frampion made CQ Blue oil filters are the best non-wire-backed oil filter ever made by Fram.

The Frampion CQ Blues are pretty much identical to the (old) Mobil 1 filters-and they even seem to be superior to the old Affinia Blues-I actually had ADBV issues with the couple Affinia Blues I used on it.

You folks are welcome as always

Which is about the time frame the Fram/Champ made CQ contract. The aforementioned April 2016 Puro made CQ anecdote courtesy of sir1900 post, typical Puro date code.

That aside, once Rank Group(Fram's owner) quickly discarded Champ Labs/(UCI) with their June 2016 bankruptcy filing, it's very unlikely they would have held CQ contract much longer anyway. For Fram's part, they have no similar to the Fram/Champ CQ design in thier non synthetic media offerings, labeled and made for.

The Frampion CQ Blue oil filters for our applications are like Fram TG's except with metal end caps instead of fiber, and no Sure Grip coating. Same ADBV, same 10K miles "engineered for" service interval, same 99% @ 20 microns efficiency of that rollout time frame.

I agree the Frampion breakup is most likely what precipitated AAP/CQ to seek a new oil filter supplier, and they selected Purolator at that time. Then Wix got bought by Purolator's owners if I remember the sequence of events correctly.
