ive used both and the teflon wax/polish seems to leave a much slicker surface but im just wondering if there are any drawbacks to teflon?

Teflon is hype.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Teflon® (DuPont):
Teflon® will help ‘spread ability’ (but then so does silicone) it does nothing for durability because of its required application method-although Teflon® is an exceptional product when used as intended; it provides no benefit in a wax or polish.

According to G.R. Ansul of DuPont's Car Care Products, Specialty Products Division, "The addition of a Teflon® flouropolymer resin does nothing to enhance the properties of a car wax. We have no data that indicates the use of Teflon® fluoropolymer resins is beneficial in car waxes, and we have not seen data from other people that support this position." Manufacturers of gimmicky, over-hyped products sometimes claim that their products contain Teflon®, hoping that the consumer will believe there is something special about that product. Ansul also notes that, "Unless Teflon® is applied at 700 degrees F, and using a dissolving chemical C8, it is not a viable ingredient, and is 100 percent useless in protecting the paint's finish." This is hot enough that your car's paint (let alone your car) wouldn't survive

I agree with those above but suggest you use a sealant. It can be topped with carnauba 24 hours later for a bit more bling and another protective layer. In all cases the surface needs to be properly polished/corrected prior to applying any protective product.

Do not denigrate thine corporate overlords.

Their marketing is designed to educate the consumer and lead those consumers down the path of product enlightenment.

Obey.

Do not question.

Mere commoners are should respect their betters.

That is all.

A nice AIO product (2-3 times/yr), and Carnauba as a topper every few months. For a real quick job, try Duragloss Aqua Wax

Directions on the back of 'teflon' wax should read as follows:

Wax your car with our product as you normally would. Then, call DuPont and get them to ship you a 5-lb container of Teflon power. Sprinkle on the the car generously. Bake car at 750 degrees in a vacuum. Done.

Hello, We Sell to Detail Shops All Over Florida , Most Will Not Use a Wax , It Will not last more then a month or so , The Top End Detailers Use Menzerna Jacket Or The KLASS all In One.
Or If Your showing Your Car Put a Top Coat Of PS21 wax ,PS21 is the best wax out there, but it too will not last long .

Col.

To keep your car looking it's best (without going crazy...) wash it every week, and wax whenever the water doesnt bead on the paint anymore.

I used this on the MS6 last night...can't testify to the durability yet, but it was the easiest wax to use that I've ever encountered, and the shine is incredible.

Yep, it shines good but doesn't last to long. Mine last a couple months and I'm garaged at night.

That's someone's opinion. There are many waxes just as good/better, have the durability, and cost less. If you are dead set on P21S, buy S100 at your Harley dealer (half the price, and most believe they are essentially the same).

I like to use a good carnuba wax myself, meguiar's #26 is my choice. If gives my 06 sentra a nice deep natural shine and protects/beads for months. I wax my car about 3 times a year, #26 is good stuff imo.

Durability
Generally you can expect 50% of your Carnauba wax layer to be gone after 30 days, 75% after 60 days and 95% gone after 90 days. You should plan on waxing your car four (4) times a year. You can extend the waxes life expectancy by parking indoors, using a car cover and by using a quick detailer spray (QD) like Pinnacle Crystal Mist but a polymer sealant{Zaino,Klasse,Menzerna Jacket etc) will generally provide paint surface protection for six to nine (6-9) months.

Fracture/evaporation temperatures
Polymers 350oF (176oC), Acrylic Resin 265 - 285oF (130 - 140°C), Silicone oil 350oF (176oC), Mineral oils 200oF (93oC), Synthetic blends (Carnauba wax / polymers) 200oF (93oC), Carnauba wax 180oF (82oC), and Bee’s wax 130oF (54oC)
